- Download and unzip the ZIP file for either Eclipse 3.3 or 3.4 into your Eclipse root directory while making
sure to preserve the folder structure within the ZIP file.

To display truly native looking forms, GWT Designer for MacOSX uses the Safari browser whose
core is a WebKit framework installed in the OS. This
WebKit framework is more than 2.5 years old and
contains many bugs which may limit the functionality of GWT Designer. In order for
GWT Designer to work
properly, you need to install the
Safari 3 browser
(recommended) or install the latest
WebKit.
|
- Start Eclipse. An Information dialog will appear. Read the directions and click
Yes to see detailed directions on how to install the Safari 3 browser or the latest
WebKit.
Note: If you don't install the latest Safari 3 browser or
WebKit,
several GWT Designer features will not work.
|
 |
- If GWT Designer fails to work properly
(for example, you see an Unknown Window Type error),
shut down Eclipse and delete everything in the
"configuration" directory except the config.ini file
and the org.eclipse.update/platform.xml file. You
should also keep your org.eclipse.update/bookmarks.xml
file in order to preserve your update site bookmarks. If
that does not help, review all of the suggestions in
this FAQ entry.
|
- If you installed a version of GWT Designer
for OSX prior to v2.0.0, delete the following plugin, if it exists in your
environment...
plugins\org.eclipse.swt.carbon.macosx.gwt
